Session 1 - The Big Picture
- Establish the Vision for each of the represented teams
- Identify Goals, their purpose and how they are required to fulfil the Vision
- Translate Goals into individual objectives
- Supporting individual objectives with 1-1s
- Employee engagement - winning hearts and minds
- An exercise to understand:
- the difference between leadership and management
- the importance of both
- Understanding the role of a Leader
- Identifying the responsibilities associated with a leadership role
- Taking ownership of performance, absence, sickness issues etc.
- How to deal with such issues fairly and consistently
- Solving problems to conclusion
- The importance of monitoring, taking corrective action and following through
- The role of the Leader in the change process
- How to deal with resistance
- Each participant will identify key concrete actions from the two-day course which will drive their team forward
Course delivery details
Delegates will benefit greatly from the highly interactive nature of this two day programme. The theory behind effective people management is put to the test immediately in a simulated environment through a variety of practical individual and team-based
exercises. At the end of the programme delegates will leave with clear action plans to take back into the workplace which can be shared with their own line managers and monitored to measure success.
