Course description
This course will provide you with a overview of the key digital drafting and publishing tools required on a 'day to day' basis by interior designers. With a focus on 2D computer aided design (CAD) and publishing for design reports you will be introduced to the industry standard software packages Autodesk AutoCAD and Adobe InDesign. Following an introduction to the AutoCAD user interface and its toolsets you will be guided through a series of exercises resulting in a set of plans, sections and elevations. You will then be guided through the process of presenting your plans, sections and elevations within a design report published in Adobe InDesign. The course focuses on an internal space as a working example. You will acquire a basic working ability with the software packages. This ability can be further developed with practice following the course.
