Photographing Your Artwork For Promotion And Social Media
A short course to introduce artists and designers to the technical and creative use of a DSLR camera to help promote their work. You will learn how to take basic images and then how to format them for use on different platforms. Bring your camera to each session or if you do not have your own the college has a limited number of cameras but you will need to book one.
Suitability - Who should attend?
This course is aimed at Students who would like to know who to Photograph their artwork. This could be for promotion in print, online and for exhibitions. Students should have small 2D and / or 3D artworks that they would like to Photograph for the course. Students don't have to have digital camera and you can be a beginner at photography. Some knowledge of computing preferred, this is not suitable for students with no computing experience.
Training Course Content
The course will cover how to set up a space to Photograph your arts work, basic lighting, basic use of a camera and how to format and adapt your images
By the end of the course you should be able to:
1. Understand the how to set up a space to Photograph small and medium sized Artworks
2. Understand the basics of lighting an artwork
3. Understand the basics of saving and formatting images
4. Understand the basics of manipulating images and adapting for different platforms
