The ability to execute a document using an electronic signature is now well established in contract law. However, considerable confusion remains as to what will be accepted as a valid electronic signature, particularly in the case of property transactions.


In this webinar, Keith Markham will review the relevant legislation and caselaw, as well as summarise the key guidance provided by both the Law Commission and HM Land Registry.


Topics to be covered include the different types of electronic signatures, ‘simple’ and ‘formal’ contracts, the latest position on the signing and witnessing of wills using electronic means, and more.
