  • Provisions in the Equality Act 2010 on positive action in general and in recruitment and training
  • The relationship between the positive action provisions and the public sector equality duty
  • Interactions between the positive action provisions and the rules on direct and indirect discrimination
  • Guidance from the Government Equalities Office
  • The unique features of the protected characteristic of disability
  • Other exceptions to general anti-discrimination rules
  • Analysis of those characteristics which are not protected in law, but which routinely appear in organisations’ diversity projects
