Postgraduate Diploma (PgDip) in Risk and Safety Management - distance learning risk management course
Delivered via distance learning, Risktec's Postgraduate Diploma in Risk and Safety Management gives students the opportunity to equip themselves with the practical skills they need to excel in their professional roles in risk and safety management.
The second stage of Risktec's postgraduate study programme - which begins with a Postgraduate Certificate and ends with an MSc - the PgDip requires the completion of 12 modules over a period of 2 years. These cover a range of specific topics related to Risk Assessment, Management Systems, Leadership, Research & Reporting and Software, but also include a number of sector-specific modules designed for the Oil & Gas, Nuclear, Marine, Rail and Renewables sectors.
The course will be delivered by experienced teachers with extensive industry experience, who will provide your staff with the practical insights and expertise needed to tackle real-world risk management problems confidently and effectively.
New for 2024: Students working in the clean energy or nuclear industries can select two modules that are specifically tailored to the needs of their industry.
Suitability - Who should attend?
The PgDip in Risk and Safety Management is designed for staff working in process safety, technical safety, safety engineering or nuclear safety in major hazard industries.
Pre-requisites
Candidates must have a relevant Bachelor degree or 5+ years of relevant work experience. They must also have proven English language capability and broadband Internet access.
Outcome / Qualification etc.
Students who complete the course and all relevant assessments will receive a PgDip in Risk and Safety Management validated by Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU).

Students are required to complete 12 modules to gain the 120 credits required.

Course format & materials
Enrolment on the course gives students access to the Risktec Online learning environment. The module material includes slides and explanatory notes plus references to further reading and useful websites. Students engage in online activities including tests, discussions and group tasks. Support from the module teacher is available throughout the programme.

The PgCert is also available as a private, customisable course for corporate clients (face-to-face, blended learning or distance learning).
