Risktec's portfolio of training programmes was designed and is constantly updated to meet the needs of a growing industry with a consistent need for skilled, qualified professionals. It is with this in mind that they developed, in collaboration with Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU), a unique range of industry-focused postgraduate qualifications for risk and safety professionals in any major hazard industry. These include:
- Postgraduate Certificate (PgCert) in Risk and Safety Management
- Postgraduate Diploma (PgDip) in Risk and Safety Management
- Master of Science (MSc) in Risk and Safety Management
Structured in a modular, sequential fashion, students can enrol directly on any one of the three programmes, or start with the PgCert and progress on to the PgDip, followed by the MSc. Alternatively, they can choose to complete single modules that result in Certificates of Professional Development (CPDs). All modules are delivered by flexible distance learning via the Risktec Online learning environment, where students have access to vast amounts of course material and further reading as well as the opportunity to interact with fellow students to complete practical exercises and participate in discussions.
Organisations that are truly committed to promoting competency and drawing value from risk and safety management activities can also choose to customise and deliver these postgraduate qualifications to groups of staff, either face-to-face or via the same distance learning platform used in the public courses.
Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
A "lighter" version of the postgraduate education, the CPD modules in Risk and Safety Management are made up of the same content and learning outcomes as the postgraduate programmes, but require only one-sixth of the assessment hours and are assessed to a professional level. Similarly to the postgraduate courses, they can be customised for corporate clients looking to fulfil specific needs and can be delivered as face-to-face, online or blended learning solutions.
Despite the different level of assessment, what these qualifications all share is that they have been developed by practitioners for practitioners. They are thus very much focused on the practical aspects of risk management and dedicated to using Risktec's extensive experience to promote best practice risk and safety management across all industries worldwide.
