Course description
This course is ideal for practicing interior designers, and others keen to gain a working knowledge of kitchen and bathroom planning and design. It will also suit anyone interested in investigating new ideas and inspirations for their home, along with students on related courses. Basic drawing technical skills required. On this four-day course, you will cover the planning and design of kitchens and bathrooms for residential interiors. You will be guided through the process and during the 3.5 days of workshops, be able to put your newfound skills into practice by undertaking a kitchen or bathroom project within a specific space. We will also spend one afternoon visiting kitchen and bathroom showrooms to give you the opportunity to meet suppliers, see the latest trends and and gain product knowledge.
Topics covered will include: The principles of kitchen and bathroom planning and design; Taking the client brief; How to prepare a site survey; Space planning and ergonomics; Building regulations and practical considerations; Appliances and storage solutions; Materials and Finishes; Preparing a specification; Colour and Lighting; Styles, Trends and new technologies.
