The Dip Trans is a nationally recognised qualification accepted by NRPST that is requested by translation clients and Language Service providers nationwide.
Alongside the exam, you will also receive our online Preparation Course:
- 19 individual units addressing theoretical and practical aspects of translation with detailed examples and exercises for each element
- 6 test translations with written and oral feedback covering Unit 1 (General), Unit 2 (Business) and Unit 3 (Law) of the Diploma in Translation exam, assessed by a qualified translator
- A 30-minute remote session with the assessor per translation to review feedback and advise on development points

Course delivery details
The online preparation course contains the following study resources:
- 19 individual units addressing theoretical and practical aspects of translation with detailed examples of each element
- 22 specifically tailored exercises allowing you to put your learning into practice
- An accredited knowledge test and CPD certificate on the Historical Analysis of Translation Theory
- 6 translation exercises with written and oral feedback covering Unit 1 (General), Unit 2 (Business) and Unit 3 (Law) of the Diploma in Translation exam
- Translation exercises assessed by a qualified translator
- Detailed feedback on the translations provided in written format (within the Dip Trans scoring matrix)
- A 30-minute remote session with the assessor per translation to review feedback and advise on development points
Duration:
- 7 hours
- You have a maximum of 6 months to complete this Level 7 translation qualification
Method of Assessment
The Diploma in Translation is portfolio based (it will consist of an exam and a written essay). The exam consists of three units and will be conducted over 3 days. The content of the assessments will depend on the specialisms that you have chosen when you sign up for the exam. To take the exam you will need access to a computer/laptop, web cam and the internet. There will also be a short written essay that you will need to complete to meet the assessment criteria.
