Course description
In 2019, the Financial Conduct Authority (‘FCA’) took over from the Ministry of Justice as the regulator of Claims Management Companies (‘CMCs’).
To bring claims management activities within the regulatory perimeter of the FCA, amendments were made to the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000, and the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 (Regulated Activities) Order 2001.
Presented by financial services regulation expert Joshua Bates, this webinar will examine the statutory definition of regulated claims management activities, the statutory exclusions, and exemptions available to unauthorised persons. The regulatory risk to non-compliant CMCs and the FCA’s authorisation and supervision of CMCs will also be explored.
