The Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Act received Royal Assent in April 2022. Since then, twelve statutory instruments have brought various sections into effect.

One year on, this webinar will consider the key statutory instruments all criminal practitioners should be aware of.

Presented by the highly experienced and popular speaker Colin Beaumont, the topics discussed will include sex offences and the management of offenders, surrender of driving licences, the Code of Practice in relation to the extraction of electronic material from devices, and many other important developments.

  • Statutory Instrument 2022/1227 - Amendments to the management of sex offenders
  • Statutory Instrument 2022/1187 - Amendments to the law concerning the surrender of driving licences
  • Statutory instrument 2022/1075 - All the important amendments to pre-charge bail and amendments to the test for constables concerning careless or dangerous driving
  • Statutory Instrument 2022/1054 - Extraction of electronic material from devices (sections 37 - 44 of the Act)
  • The Code of Practice in relation to the extraction of electronic material from devices
  • All change with the time limits re. the institution of proceedings for common assault/battery in a domestic context
