Personal Impact Workshop

Theatreworks Personal Impact - 1 day workshop in communication and influencing skills

Drawing on the techniques used by professional actors and directors, this Theatreworks Personal Impact workshop is designed to help delegates improve their communication skills in an experiential and deeply memorable way.

The one day programme is designed as a way for delegates to enhance their confidence in using their body, voice and imagination to communicate in a creative way. Highly practical and participative, the course takes place in a rehearsal room where participants are given a safe space to practice skills related to:

  • Improved breathing and use of voice
  • Active listening skills
  • Relaxation and concentration
  • Communicating confidently to an audience
  • Harnessing their personality and presence to affect a group

With useful feedback from specialist actor/trainers from the National Theatre, delegates will gain key insights into their individual communication style and learn to more effectively command the attention of others in all aspects of their personal and professional lives.

Suitability - Who should attend?

This course is suitable for professionals from the corporate, public and not-for-profit sectors who are at middle management level and above.

The course provides participants with:

  • An insight into what makes people interesting to listen to
  • Improved use of voice and breathing
  • Active listening skills and techniques for concentration and relaxation
  • An understanding of physical presence and body language
  • Increased confidence in communicating to an audience
  • The ability to harness their own personality, presence and purpose to affect a group

Expenses

The cost of this course is £440, including a ticket to a performance at the National Theatre on the same day.

Delegates receive a 10% discount when booking both Personal Impact and Influence & Rapport.

An excellent course. Any self consciousness was quickly over come during the morning’s exercises. It was fun and enjoyable. I grew in self confidence during the day, as I effectively communicated to a group of strangers during the exercises. I left feeling “I can do this”.
