Course description

This module is an option module for the MSc / PG Dip in Leadership Management and Change in Health and Social Care.

The aim of this module is:

  • To provide students with the opportunity to develop a critical understanding of human resource management (HRM) theory and practice
  • To provide students with the opportunity to explore and analyse different approaches and techniques to human resource management

The learning outcomes for the module are to enable the student to:

  • Critically analyse different theories and approaches to human resource management
  • Critically analyse and evaluate different HRM techniques
  • Critically evaluate HRM theories and tools to effectively manage human resources
  • Analyse and apply different HRM developments and practices in the health and social care sectors
  • Develop skills in the analysis of Human Resource issues and the formulation of appropriate HRM responses
