Course description

The Guardianship (Missing Persons) Act 2017, introduced on 31 July 2019, created a new legal framework in relation to the management of the property and financial affairs of missing persons (which includes someone who is held hostage or kidnapped and is unable to communicate their wishes or deal with their affairs).

Prior to the introduction of the Act, there were no formal arrangements in place to deal with such circumstances.

Presented by expert speaker Holly Chantler, this short webinar will introduce guardianship for missing persons. It is aimed at private client practitioners, particularly those with less experience of making applications to the High Court and Court of Protection or acting as a professional deputy.
