Course description

Now, more than ever, homes are passing to individuals away from the normal sale & purchase process. Such transactions are known as transfers of equity.

Whilst the basic conveyancing principles are the same, this live broadcast session will consider the other factors to take into consideration to protect your client and your client’s mortgagee.

Join presenter Stephen Desmond as he discusses lender requirements, potential conflict of interest, the need for independent legal advice and Stamp Duty Land Tax implications. Insolvency risks, the transfer potentially being at an ‘undervalue’, and Land Registry issues will all be explored in detail, plus much more.
