Course description

The Cross-Border Payments Regulation (EC) No 924/2009 (‘CBPR’) is part of the EU strategy to implement and improve a single European market for retail financial services, namely, to reduce the obstacles to cross-border transactions. CBPR has gone through multiple changes. The most recent changes are made by what is commonly referred to as CBPR2 (Regulation (EU) 2019/518).

However, apart from a few limited provisions, CBPR has largely been revoked in the UK following the end of the Brexit transition period. This short webinar will explain the CBPR requirements as ‘onshored’ in the UK (‘UK CBPR’), providing you with a better understanding of the new regime.

It is presented by Kai Zhang, a special counsel at K&L Gates LLP with a wealth of experience in this area.
