When responding to poor performance in the workplace, it is important to be aware of the employment law implications to ensure that you are acting lawfully.


Kathy Daniels presents this live and interactive broadcast which will discuss the key issues that can arise in this area.


It will address the case law, fictitious examples and even questions submitted by delegates, to cover as many of this area’s challenging aspects as possible. This will include how to deal with an employee who is off sick after performance issues are raised, an employee who raises a grievance with their line manager once performance issues are raised, and much more.

Training Course Content

Introduction

In this virtual classroom workshop, we will explore some of the more complex issues relating to managing poor performance lawfully by working through a series of examples.

These will be a mix of case law, and fictitious examples written to bring out some of the more challenging aspects of managing poor performance.

Delegates will be invited to submit any questions one week prior to the session, and these will be woven into the examples that everyone will work through together.

What You Will Learn

This live and interactive session will cover the following:

  • Dealing with an employee who goes off sick once issues relating to performance are raised
  • Managing an employee who raises a grievance against their line manager once performance issues are raised
  • How to manage an employee who performs well whilst a disciplinary warning is live, but the performance deteriorates as soon as the warning has expired
  • Dealing with poor performance which is linked to a degenerative illness
  • Dealing with poor performance which appears to be linked to increasing age
  • How to manage an employee who is trying hard, but just cannot reach the required performance standards
