Course description

Whilst the fines imposed on corporate defendants convicted of offences under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 have attracted the most publicity, the sentencing guidelines also provide for potential prison sentences for individuals who have committed health and safety offences. With the subsequent introduction of guidelines for manslaughter offences, practitioners and those working in industry need to be aware of the range of health and safety offences that individuals can be liable for and the potential penalties that they face.

This live and interactive online seminar will explore the liability of directors, managers, and secretaries of companies under section 37 HSWA, the liability of individuals under section 7 HSWA, ways of mitigating the risk of prosecution of individuals for health and safety offences, and more.
