Course description

Exhibition Stand Design and Visualisation

This two-day course is for marketing professionals who wish to understand what successful exhibition design looks like, and how to present their 2D and 3D ideas to stand builders.

It will help you to develop professional design skills that align to a marketing strategy, and how you can work efficiently and effectively to create stands that have impact.

You will do this by exploring a combination of hand sketching skills, card model-making and 3D computer visualisation.

The course is for anyone who wants to improve their creative design skills and gain a better understanding of how to communicate ideas with stand builders and other stakeholders.

It builds your confidence and skills in utilising industry-standard design techniques and processes, and is taught by professionals who have a unique experience of this industry.

It is largely practical and hands-on, requiring creativity and an openness to experiment with ideas.

On this course, you will:

  • participate in short, visually informative talks and discussions
  • examine exhibition design case studies, and understand what works and what doesn’t
  • complete studio-based design activities including drawing, idea development and model making
  • receive one-to-one tuition and advice
  • use SketchUp to complete your projects.

What will I gain?

You will leave the course with a clear understanding of the design process and how this can help to develop, refine and communicate a design and marketing idea.

It can contribute towards a design portfolio, enhance the skills section of your CV, and improve your professional knowledge.
