Newcastle City Learning
Newcastle City Learning is a part of the People Directorate of Newcastle City Council and it's our job to give you the opportunity to get involved in lifelong learning. Whether it's to improve your job prospects, develop a skill or hobby or learn for fun, we are here to offer you helpful advice on the best course to suit your needs. We believe that everyone should be able to access the skills that they need for work, and have new enterprise training and career development programmes too. Learning can also improve health and wellbeing, increase confidence and help you achieve your potential.
Enrolling is easy too; you can log on to our on-line booking service, call our freephone telephone number, or visit any of our learning centre receptions. Whichever route you take, our staff will happily offer you detailed information, advice and guidance to make the right choice for you.
Types of Courses Offered
The biggest single provision areas for the service are English for Speakers of Other Languages, Learners with learning difficulties and/or disabilities and English and maths.

At the heart of the service is an ethos of supporting the people furthest away from the labour market in the city to develop their skills. Most provision is delivered and managed directly.
